music within

Music Within is a charitable organization that uses violin music to help patients with cognitive deficits, reconnect with their love for music. Our goal is to allow patients to not only observe our music, but to be able to participate in our music and concerts. We hope to be able to form connections with patients and participants through our music, in order to help our audience be able to step outside their usual persona and  feel the music.

 

My name is  Angelica Abbondandolo, I am the founder of Music Within. I am high school student who has been playing the violin since the age of three. Violin, and music in general has always been a major part of my life, which is why I have decided to create this organization, to spread my love of music to others. Countless studies have been done, proving that music has the power to enhance the lives of those with cognitive deficits of any capacity, and seeing that music has brought so much joy to me, and those I play for; has inspired me to spread the joy of music to those at nursing homes and senior centers.

Greek philosopher Plato once wrote, "Music is medicine to the soul." and this quote perfectly embodies the mission of the organization Music Within.
